Problem
The film 'Kongsi,' directed by Jefri Musa and produced by Iskul Sama DiLaut Omadal, was a testament to creativity and resourcefulness. Shot in less than 2 days by cinematographer Andy Chia, the production faced tight budget constraints and limited resources, resulting in a makeshift approach to everything from foley sounds to lighting.
Solution
Despite these challenges, the outcome was a source of pride, showcasing the power of collaboration and community spirit. Filmed in the actors' homes with natural lighting, 'Kongsi' embodies the essence of grassroots filmmaking, where artists come together to contribute their talents, including music and art pieces. As the editor, I crafted a cohesive narrative, leveraging the available footage to produce a solid final edit. This project exemplifies my ability to overcome obstacles and deliver quality results, even in challenging circumstances, making it a valuable addition to my portfolio that holds close to my heart.
